In Downtown Los Angeles, construction looks to be just about finished for Onni Group's latest and largest apartment tower yet at the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Hill Street.

Located at 230 W. Olympic Boulevard and 1000 S. Hill Street, the project consists of a 54-story building featuring 685 apartments above ground-floor commercial space and parking for more than 1,000 vehicles.

A leasing website describes a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom rental units - ranging from 577 to 1,802 square feet in size. Rents start at $2,470 for smaller units and range as high as $9,119 per month for larger apartments on upper floors.

Arcadis is the architect of record for the project, working off of an entitlement design from Chris Dikeakos Architects. The tower stands roughly 593 feet to its apex, and includes a large amenity deck with a swimming pool atop its parking podium. Habitable spaces and residential units wrap much of the building's parking podium along its Hill and Olympic Street frontages - a design feature has often been requested by members of the Los Angeles City Planning Commission.

Olympic and Hill stands heads and shoulders above the low-rise surroundings of Olympic Boulevard, but could have company in the future. Three similar similar-scaled high-rise buildings are proposed one block to the south on 11th Street by Mack Real Estate Development and Crescent Heights.

Onni Group is not done building in Downtown. The Vancouver-based developer also has two towers planned at the former home of the Los Angeles Times, as well as a mixed-use project in the Arts District. The timing for those projects remains unclear.
