One year since we last dropped by, the tower crane is gone and exterior finishes are taking shape for a new mixed-use project from Holland Partner Group across the street from The Grove and the Farmers Market.
Bloom on Third, which replaced a portion of a shopping center at 6300 W. 3rd Street, consists of an eight-story building which will feature 311 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above approximately 84,000 square feet of commercial space. Plans call for parking for nearly 1,000 vehicles in a podium garage.
Reports (and renderings) indicate that Whole Foods will anchor the project's retail space.
MVE + Partners is designing the mixed-use complex, which includes cutouts and setbacks that reduce the scale of the building along adjacent streets and a neighboring elementary school to the south. Plans also call for courtyards and amenity decks to provide outdoor space for use by residents.
Completion of Bloom on Third is expected in 2026.
Holland Partner Group, in addition to its Mid-Wilshire development, is building a 271-unit apartment complex in Downtown Long Beach and has plans for a larger 282-unit building in the southeast corner of that city and a 370-unit development in Santa Monica.
